MacroGaijin Privacy Policy

MacroGaijin ("we", "our", or "us") operates the MacroGaijin mobile application (the "App").
This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is protected.
1. Data We Collect
- Account data: Email address and Argon2id-hashed password, collected at registration and used solely for authentication.
- Food photos: Images you capture are sent to our server for AI ingredient detection or nutrition-label transcription. Images are processed in memory and never stored on MacroGaijin servers.
- Product milestones: We record the first time your account reaches five coarse app milestones (finishing onboarding, opening the camera, reading a label, logging a meal, generating a recipe) so we can see where new users get stuck. This is a milestone name and a date only — never a photo, a food name, or anything you typed.
- Saved recipes: Recipe content you choose to save is stored in your account and visible only to you.
- Generated dish images: Illustrations of your saved recipes are stored as recovery copies, available for at most 72 hours and visible only to you.
- Usage data: Scan count and daily quota usage, stored to enforce free-tier limits and display your usage in the app.
- Subscription status: Whether you hold an active premium subscription, managed by RevenueCat. We do not store payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate you and maintain your account.
- To generate recipe suggestions from ingredients you photograph and transcribe nutrition labels.
- To generate an illustration of a saved recipe.
- To understand where new users stop using the app, so we can improve it.
- To enforce usage quotas and apply premium entitlements.
- To allow you to save, view, and delete your own recipes.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
- OpenAI API – ingredient detection, nutrition-label transcription, recipe generation, and dish-image generation. Food photos, label photos, ingredient lists, and saved recipe text are sent to OpenAI for processing. Generating a dish image sends recipe text, not your personal dish photo. - RevenueCat – subscription management. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Neon (PostgreSQL hosting) – encrypted-at-rest cloud database in the US region.
- Google Cloud Run – API hosting. See Google Cloud Privacy Notice.
4. Data Retention
Your account data and saved recipes are retained until you delete your account.
Generated dish images are available on our server for at most 72 hours as recovery copies, and are deleted with your account. Your device keeps its own image copy until you remove it.
Deleting your account permanently removes your email, password hash, recipes, generated images, image reports, usage history, and subscription link within seconds.

5. Security
Passwords are stored as Argon2id hashes and never in plain text.
All traffic between the App and our API is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
Database connections require SSL.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

7. Your Rights
You may access, correct, or delete your data at any time through the App's You tab,
or by emailing contact@davidrengifo.com.
Requests are fulfilled within 30 days.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.

MacroGaijin（以下「本サービス」）は、MacroGaijinモバイルアプリ（以下「本アプリ」）を運営します。
本ポリシーでは、収集するデータ、その目的、および保護方法について説明します。
1. 収集するデータ
- アカウント情報：メールアドレスおよびArgon2idハッシュ化されたパスワード。認証目的のみに使用します。
- 食品写真：撮影した画像はAI食材検出または栄養成分表示の文字起こしのためサーバーに送信されます。画像はメモリ上で処理され、MacroGaijinのサーバーには保存されません。
- 保存レシピ：保存を選択したレシピはアカウントに紐付けられ、ご本人のみが閲覧可能です。
- 生成した料理画像：保存レシピのイメージ画像を復旧用として保存します。最大72時間利用可能で、ご本人のみが閲覧できます。
- 利用データ：スキャン回数および日次利用枠。無料プランの制限管理に使用します。
- サブスクリプション状態：RevenueCatが管理するプレミアム会員資格の有無。決済カード情報は保存しません。
- 利用状況の節目：アカウントが5つの節目（オンボーディング完了、カメラの初回起動、ラベルの読み取り、食事の初回記録、レシピの初回生成）に初めて到達した日付のみを記録します。新規ユーザーがどこでつまずくかを把握するためであり、写真・食品名・入力内容は一切記録しません。
2. データの利用目的
- 認証およびアカウント管理
- 撮影した食材からのレシピ提案および栄養成分表示の文字起こし
- 保存したレシピのイメージ画像を生成するため
- 利用枠の適用およびプレミアム特典の付与
- レシピの保存・閲覧・削除機能の提供
- 新規ユーザーがどの段階で利用をやめるかを把握し、アプリを改善するため
お客様の個人情報をマーケティング目的で第三者に販売・貸与・提供することはありません。
3. 第三者サービス
- OpenAI API – 食材検出、栄養成分表示の文字起こし、レシピ生成、および料理画像の生成に使用します。料理画像の生成では保存したレシピのテキストをOpenAIに送信します。ご本人が撮影した料理写真はこの画像生成のためには送信しません。
- RevenueCat – サブスクリプション管理に使用します。
- Neon（PostgreSQL） – 暗号化されたクラウドデータベース（米国リージョン）。
- Google Cloud Run – APIホスティング。
4. データ保持期間
アカウントデータおよび保存レシピは、アカウント削除まで保持されます。
生成した料理画像は復旧用としてサーバー上で最大72時間利用可能で、アカウント削除時にも削除されます。端末内の画像は、ご本人が削除するまで保存されます。
アカウントを削除すると、メールアドレス、パスワードハッシュ、レシピ、生成画像、画像の報告、利用履歴、サブスクリプション情報が即時に完全削除されます。

5. セキュリティ
パスワードはArgon2idハッシュとして保存され、平文では保存しません。
アプリとAPIの通信はすべてHTTPS/TLSで暗号化されています。
6. お子様のプライバシー
本アプリは13歳未満のお子様を対象としていません。
13歳未満のお子様のデータを誤って収集した場合は、下記の連絡先までお知らせください。
7. お客様の権利
アプリの「You」タブから、またはメール（contact@davidrengifo.com）にてデータのアクセス・修正・削除をリクエストできます。
リクエストは30日以内に対応します。
8. ポリシーの変更
本ポリシーは随時更新することがあります。変更後も本アプリを継続して使用することで、改定後のポリシーに同意したものとみなします。
